Summary
- Samsung’s 2025 OLED TVs now support Nvidia G-SYNC for a smoother gaming experience.
- G-SYNC syncs your display’s refresh rate with your GPU’s frame rate to reduce screen tearing.
- Samsung’s OLED TV lineup also features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and other gaming features.
When Samsung unveiled its 2025 OLED TVs, it highlighted their compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology designed to reduce screen tearing and enhance smoothness while gaming. While this benefits devices with an AMD GPU, what about those using Nvidia GPUs? It appears Samsung has finally answered the call.
Samsung has confirmed that its 2025 OLED TV lineup will be compatible with
Nvidia G-SYNC
This means if you have a device or PC with an Nvidia GPU, you can take advantage of Nvidia’s proprietary
VRR technology
, which helps reduce screen tearing and stuttering while gaming on your TV. Samsung says with G-SYNC paired with its Motion Xcelerator technology, gamers can expect “exceptionally fluid visuals” and enhanced clarity during fast-paced games.
“With the addition of NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility and our most advanced gaming features yet, Samsung 2025 OLED TVs deliver elite-level performance for even the most competitive players,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Customer Experience Team at Samsung Electronics.

What is Nvidia G-SYNC?
Like FreeSync, it virtually eliminates screen tearing

If you’re unfamiliar with Nvidia’s G-SYNC technology, don’t worry — many people are in the same boat. G-SYNC synchronizes your display’s refresh rate with your GPU’s frame rate, effectively reducing screen tearing and stuttering. This means that while you’re gaming on your TV or monitor, the image will look smoother and clearer, especially when the frame rate might be a bit jumpy.
Of course, the major caveat is that to use G-SYNC on Samsung’s 2025 OLED TV lineup, you’ll need an Nvidia GPU in your PC. While the upcoming
Nintendo Switch 2
has a custom Nvidia chipset, it will, unfortunately, only support G-SYNC in handheld mode, not while docked.
Samsung’s 2025 OLED TV lineup does support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, so if you have an AMD GPU or an Xbox Series X/S, you can take advantage of that type of VRR technology instead. Samsung states that with G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync support, its new OLED TVs ensure “broad compatibility and adaptive sync performance across a range of GPUs.”
Nvidia G-SYNC will be available first on Samsung’s flagship S95F OLED TV, and then “subsequently roll out” to other models in Samsung’s 2025 OLED TV lineup.
In addition to G-SYNC and FreeSync support, Samsung is highlighting some of the other core gaming features of its 2025 OLED TV lineup, including Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which reduces input lag, and Samsung Gaming Hub, which allows users to access a variety of cloud gaming apps right from their TV, without additional hardware required, such as the Xbox app, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna.
Samsung’s 2025 OLED TVs also support its AI Auto Game Mode, which can analyze “game genres and scene content” and adjust in real time the TV’s picture and sound settings.

I’ve been using Nvidia’s G-SYNC technology with my gaming PC and LG monitor for a long time, and thanks to it, I can’t recall the last time I experienced any screen tearing. For PC gamers, both AMD FreeSync and G-SYNC are essential for a smoother gaming experience, and it’s great to see this technology being natively supported by TVs, not just monitors.
