Razer has unveiled the 2025 Razer Blade 16, featuring significant changes to its design, performance, and components. The new model is thinner, measuring just 0.59 inches (14.9mm) at the front, a 30% reduction in thickness compared to the 2024 version.

Despite the slimmer design, the laptop retains its powerful specs, including an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU and a next-gen Nvidia GPU, marking Razer’s first use of an AMD processor in the Blade 16 lineup.

The Blade 16 also upgrades its audio system with six speakers, an improvement over the previous four, and maintains the 240Hz OLED display from last year.

However, the thinner chassis comes with some trade-offs. The new model has a 90Wh battery, down from last year’s 95.2Wh, and can charge to 80% in around 45 minutes. This quick charging could be crucial, as previous models were known for subpar battery performance.

Razer aims to address potential thermal issues with a new thermal gel that covers a larger area inside the laptop. While the new AMD processor may help reduce heat and improve battery life, the impact of these changes on overall performance remains to be tested. The new Blade 16 also features a deeper body (250.5mm) and improved key travel (1.5mm) for better typing comfort.

Set for release in the first quarter of 2025, the Razer Blade 16 promises to offer powerful gaming performance in a thinner form factor. However, its pricing remains unannounced, though it is expected to be on the higher end.
